Efwein Names:

Examples:

Medium Your size is medium

  • Your speed is 35ft.
  • Flamesight: Fire, ash, and smoke do not impair your vision; you can see through them as if they were transparent. You are also unaffected by smoke inhalation.
  • Gift of Avarice: You gain +1 accuracy on appraisal checks, as well as to search checks to find valuables.
  • Fan the Embers: You have a special unarmed attack using the ignited oils within your feathers. This attack deals 1d6 points of fire damage, has a reach of 10 feet, and is in the splash weapon group. Once per minute you may make a breath attack with your flames using two actions, dealing 3d6 fire damage in a 15 foot cone (a dexterity saving throw halves this damage).
  • Fiery Blood: You gain resistance against fire and poison damage equal to 3 + 1/2 your level.

Alternate Racial Features: Clawed Feet Your feet sport a wickedly long and sharp claw, making you slower than your kin (your base speed is 30ft instead of 35ft), but granting you a natural weapon that you can use even if your hands are preoccupied. These foot claws deal 1d4 piercing or slashing damage, and if you are able to use both simultaneously (such as while swimming, flying, grappling, or being eaten), this damage is instead 2d4.

Debt to the Lady of Flame You may select one of the following "debts", allowing you to select a bonus racial feat at 1st level.

Debt of Ashes: (Required communion with flames; gain increasing levels of distraction/agitation each day it is missed)
Debt of Blood: (your maximum hit points are reduced; you are immune to bleed effects)
Debt of Gold: (your money has a habit of disappearing, and you have a compulsion to donating more than others)
Debt of Meat: (you cannot eat meat without becoming extremely sick.)
Debt of Speech: (you are mute, and cannot make any vocalizations)
Debt of Vanity: (must keep up appearance and spend extra on comforts and other selfish needs; lose proficiencies when below baseline hygiene/appearence)
Debt of Truth: (cannot lie without painful consequences; etc)

Gifts

(needs like twice as many more)

Gift of Alacrity: Whenever you roll initiative, you may roll a d4 and add the result to your roll. Whenever you provoke an attack of opportunity due to movement, you may roll a d4 and add the result to your armor class against that attack.
Gift of Blades: As an item interaction, you may conjure a bronze scimitar into a free hand, this scimitar disappears if you release it for any reason. You are proficient in its use, and it deals bonus fire damage equal to your racial level. You may conjure as many of these bronze scimitars as you have hands free to hold them.
Gift of Flames: Whenever you deal fire damage to a creature or object, that damage is increased by +2. When you complete a short rest and have no uses of form of fire remaining, you regain one use of form of fire.
Gift of Smoke: You do not suffer from smoke inhalation. As a bonus action, you may spend a use of your *form of fire* to produce a haze of smoke that extends from your space out to 20 feet, providing concealment; this smoke persists for a number of rounds equal to your proficiency bonus. While in this smoke, you may teleport anywhere within this same smoke as a bonus action, becoming invisible until the start of your next turn. After you teleport in this manner, the duration of the smoke decreases by 1 round, dissipating early when it reaches 0.
Gift of Mirrors: (spend form of fire, gain illusory duplicate in your space. 50% chance that the duplicate takes a hit for you, and it can take a number of hits equal to 2 + your racial level)
Gift of Wealth: You gain proficiency in appraise checks, if you were already proficient you instead gain expertise. You have a bonus equal to your racial level on perception checks to notice hidden valuables (such as coins, gems, or artwork) and mechanisms (such as traps and doors), and on checks to open locks or disable traps.
