ServantsOfTheRedMoon

= Servants of the Red Moon =

Races, classes and feats for those that follow our queen! Ia Red Moon! Ia Lady of Blue! Ia! Ia!

== Minion of the Red Moon ==

     Standing before you is what appears to be a young human girl, though two large horns stick from the sides of her head, along with four thin tendrils from somewhere on the back of her neck that whip about as if searching. Her eyes glow blue with an odd energy and have an appearance of heavy makeup, and situated in the middle of her forehead, framed by a wild mane of white hair, is an odd, eye-like marking. As she walks, you note her feet terminate in a pair of cloven hooves, rather than human feet, and her long, pointed tail swishes behind her.

     Minions of the Red Moon are not naturally born, but instead crafted, most often by the Red Moon Queen herself, though some of the higher champions may take the time and their own servant troops, to forge one. Forged is the appropriate term, as these minions are forged from almost pure incarnum, with only a hint of mortal flesh to bind them into a coherent being. They seek to serve their master, the Red Moon Queen, as best they can, usually devising plans long reaching with many branches. Though also they may just enter the mortal realm and begin harvesting souls for their creator as well.

     Minions derive pleasure from odd things, often due to the souls used to craft them. Those personally made by the Red Moon Queen often have the fewest quirks, though this isn't a set rule. Most often the weirdest minions arise from the playing of the champions, who use their most worthless slaves and servants to forge what they consider a one-shot chance for power and harvesting. These minions may cause more havoc than they are worth, however, and the champion must rely on an errant Paladin or Cleric to remove her.

     Minions are often True Neutral, with a leaning towards chaos and evil. Lawful minions are not rare, though, however the Red Moon Queen gets so few Good souls, that Good aligned minions occur well after they've been made and released into the world. They gravitate towards the shaper classes, being made of incarnum, though they do make good wizards and even warblades.

     Minions of the Red Moon have the following in game abilities.

  • Medium Aberration [Incarnum]
  • +2 CON, +2 INT, -2 WIS; Minions are cunning, but only in the long term, as they are terrible at thinking on the fly, they are also quite tough being non-flesh.
  • Soulmade Resistances: Minions have energy resist 5 against Acid, Cold and Fire damage, she may, once per day, invest essentia into this ability; each point of essentia grants her a +1 increase to her natural armour (if she does not have a natural armour bonus, she is counted as having a +0 bonus). She may not divest essentia from this ability for 24 hours afterward.
  • Innate Soul power: Minions start with an extra point of essentia, and may use their favored class bonus to gain 1/3rd of a point of essentia each level, regardless of their favored class.
  • Ageless: Minions are inherently ageless, being made into the shape they will remain until their unraveling; they gain no bonuses nor take any penalties based on their age. Depending on the quality of the souls used to create her, this may be anywhere from 8 years, to 3 millennium.

== Greater Minion of the Red Moon Queen ==

     Some minions are more powerful than their sisters, having gorged themselves on souls, or been crafted with greater care. Regardless, they are known as greater minions, and are considerably tougher than normal minions, though they do lack a bit of the finesse of a Champion.

     Any minion character is free to take levels in this racial class and at any point in her career.

     Hit Die: d10

     Class Skills: (4 + INT each level) Any 6, plus Knowledge(Religion, The Planes). Minions are made to serve a variety of roles, and thus have a pick of what they can be good at.

Table: Greater Minon of the Red Moon racial levels

{| cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" border="0" |- | Level | BAB | Fort | Ref | Will | Special | Meldshaper Level | Bonus Essentia |- | 1 | +1 | +2 | +0 | +2 | Detect Alignment, Natural Armour +1 | - | 1 |- | 2 | +2 | +3 | +0 | +3 | Natural Armour +2 | +1 meldshaping | 2 |- | 3 | +3 | +3 | +1 | +3 | DR 3/Cold-Iron, Natural Armour +3 | +1 meldshaping | 2 |}

     Detect Alignment (DSp): A greater minion is capable of using the sensory organs in her horns to "smell" the leanings of a person's soul, she may use detect alignment at will with a caster level equal to her hit dice.

     Meldshaping Synergy, Essentia (DSu): At second and third level, a greater minion increases one of her effective meldshaping class levels by 1 for determining the amount of essentia she may place in soul melds, her amount of soul melds, her number of chakra binds, and the duration of class abilities based on class level. She doesn't gain any other benefit of advancing in that class, such as base attack bonus, class features, saves, or skill points. A greater minion gains bonus essentia from her levels in this racial class, as shown above.

     Natural Armour (Ex): A minion's body is also tough, with skin able to deflect steel in some cases, though it remains oddly soft to the touch. A greater minion gains a +1 increase to her natural armour at 1st level (granting her a natural armour bonus if she did not have one before), which further increases by +1 at each level afterward.

     Damage Reduction (DSu): At third level, a greater minion's body has become durable enough to withstand terrible blows. She gains damage reduction 3/cold iron, the metal harming her in a similar fashion as it does to fey creatures.

== Red Moon Soul Melds ==

     Instead of a cool blue colour, essentia and incarnum of the Red moon glows a dull red, and has an almost oozy feel... The soulmelds shaped of this incarnum hold strong ties to the red moon, but any meldshaper can use them. The soulmelds below are available to all meldshaper classes.

Collar of Souldrinking

Throat

     This red leather collar fits snugly around your neck. It pulses, filling your mouth with the taste of blood as you strike your foes.

     Once per round as a swift action you may activate this soulmeld as part of an attack; on a success against a living creature, you regain 1 hit point of damage. If you miss on the attack, your use of this ability for the round is wasted.

     Essentia: For each point of essentia invested in this soulmeld, you regain 1 additional hit point on a success.

Chakra Binds:

     Throat - The collar seems to adhere to your skin, licking your teeth to get rid of the odd taste, you find a new pair of blood red fangs in your lower jaw..As a standard action, you may make a bite attack against a creature, this bite attack deals 1d6 points of damage plus your wisdom modifier. On a success, you heal HP damage equal to your wisdom modifier and the target must make a fortitude save or become fatigued, and you heal an extra +1d6 HP. For every point of essentia invested in this soulmeld, you heal an additional +1d6 HP. You may use this ability once per hour, and a missed attack (but not a successful save) does not waste your use of this ability.

Horns of the Minion

Crown, Totem

     Dark red horns curl around the sides of your head, their base covering up your ears entirely.

     You channel the senses of a Minion of the Red Moon, and though you can't read a person's soul as well, you can sense other things about them. You gain a +4 insight bonus to sense motive and sound-based perception checks with this soul meld.

     Essentia: For every point of essentia invested in this soul meld, your insight bonus to sense motive and sound-based perception checks increases by +2.

Chakra Binds;

     Crown - The horns darken in colour to a vibrant, deep purple, you seem to be able to hear from them as if they were your own ears. You gain the ability to detect alignment in a 10 foot cone, with a caster level equal to your meldshaper level. Every point of essentia invested in this soul meld increases this range by 5 feet.

     Totem - A small, eye-like brand appears on your forehead, glowing with the same red of your horns. Once per round as a standard action, you may fire a ray of soul energy from your eye-like marking, this ray deals 1d4 points of untyped damage, plus an additional +1d4 damage for every point of essentia invested in it. If the target of your ray has at least one alignment component opposed to yours, this ray deals +2 damage per dice.

The Queen's Side Tie Panties

Soul, Totem, Waist

     A dainty pair of side tie panties forms as your underwear. They would be rather uncomfortable on a male... but a female finds herself looking cuter and more womanly with these shaped.

     The actual origin of this meld is under debate, as many do not think the Red Moon Queen is vain enough for it. Regardless, those who shape this meld gain some of the Queen's reputed beauty and agility. With this soulmeld shaped, you gain a +4 competence bonus to Acrobatics, Bluff, and Diplomacy.

     Essentia: As you invest power into this meld, the desire to show them off increases, though they seem to protect you fine. For each point of essentia invested in this soul meld, you gain a +1 deflection bonus to your armour class.

Chakra Binds;

     Soul - Your appearance becomes quite womanly, and no matter what you wear, it seems to become a skimpier version, showing off at least the ribbons at the sides of this meld. You gain damage reduction 5/-. Each point of essentia invested in this soul meld increases this damage reduction and the competence bonus to Acrobatics, Bluff, and Diplomacy by +2.

     Totem - Your hips feel like they widen a little bit, possibly to be used as a weapon? Once per round as a standard action, you may attempt a slam attack. This slam deals 1d8 points of damage, plus one and a half times your strength modifier. Every point of essentia invested in this soulmeld grants a +1 bonus to your attack roll with this slam, and increases the damage by one size.

     Waist - The panties seem to bolster your confidence and luck; they take on a small symbol representative of you on the front. You gain a +2 luck bonus to your armour class when bound to your waist. In addition, you gain a competence bonus to all charisma based skill checks equal to the amount of invested essentia.
