Vulpo months begin on the new moon, while Merfolk months begin on the full moon. There is a one day difference between the lunar calendar and the solar calendars.
The fact that the days of the week only align fully with the lunar calendar is an interesting observation, though the elements being affected by the moon has linked them to her domain.
- Most Ewefe use the Yai calendar currently, though older ones exist at the outskirts of the empire and among the San and Dra'u.
- The names of merfolk months vary based on queendom, but they starting point is recognized among the populous (thanks to extensive trade routes for the standardization).
- Rabitians traditionally use the vulpo calendar, but also track the Yai calendar due to the location of their territory within the Yai empire.
- Winter in the Southern Harpy and Vulpo territories are almost entirely night, with very little day time. The northern harpy territories are subtropical and so experience less extreme seasonal variance.
