MovieReviews

Reaction of an average WL character from seeing some movies:

  • Harry Potter: "Totally unrealistic. To do that sort of thing you'd have to study math until you're fifty."
  • Star Wars: "Why are the good guys allied with aliens? Nice touch to set a decent pulp thriller in space, though."
  • Twilight: "Everyone in this movie who didn't rent a bomber rig for the last scene is an idiot. So, idiots."
  • Hunger Games: "Tsuxians wish their trains looked that nice. Is it satire?"
  • Hunt for Red October: "Didn't something like that happen in the thirties?"
  • James Cameron's Avatar: "What a downer ending. Good location shots though, they really managed to sell Ixaka as a different planet."
  • Titanic: "It's a two-hour commercial for a flicker company, or whatever an oceanship would use. Needed more nudity."
  • Independence Day: "I get that you're a history buff, but some of us don't LIKE watching docudramas on party night!"
  • Pacific Rim: "Awesome for escapism, but those guys had it pretty easy."
  • The Right Stuff: "If this does well at the box office, the local fire brigade guys will be busy this year."
  • Tron: "I don't get it. Why did everyone change costumes at the start and the end?"
  • E.T.: "Started off well as a horror flick, subtly creepier than Aliens, but no payoff... don't want to spoil it for you, but the aliens basically get away with emotional manipulation."
  • 9/11 news compilation: "Fearmongering what-if-weapons-were-not-allowed-on-rigs stuff. Also, no city that size would be without AA guns. These Cantonal Launcher Association types need to get a life and stop being paranoid."
  • Apollo 13: "Now that's how you do engaging hard sci-fi."
