Nautiphilia: Most sailors in history have seen ships as having their own personality and soul, and the people of the Slipstream are no exception. This, and the existence of a direct control frame that the captain can strap in to control nearly moving surface in the ship, has caused the phenomenon of captains getting perhaps a little too attached to their ship, in a physical way, alone or with others - the DCF is a hurricane-proof restraint that is fairly easy to customize for other uses without impeding its function, after all. Nautiphilia is seen as a disciplinable offense, if it's not outright illegal, in some cantons (Midya, Cascadia, Elvita), something that just isn't talked about in others (Enotria, Zoroas) or, even, a positive mark when considering whether to hire a captain (Ustria). Captains that in a crisis have privilege the safety of the ship over that of crew going overboard have been accused of nautiphilia in admiralty court, but generally without traction. As far as rigs go, any number of throttle stick jokes exist, and rig engines do tend to vibrate a lot if not tuned properly.

Psi and sex: Consensual affection with a loved one is known to be an excellent way to gain psi charge, since it releases a lot of focus and brain-stimulating chemicals with no risks of crisis or addiction. Psi circuits that enhance sexual dsire or prowess exist, but generally have to be tailored to the users -- the schematics you buy from the backpage of magazines are about as effective as email spam in the real world. A villain gaining charge forcing himself or herself on others, just off the feeling of power, is a common trope in pulp magazine and the sort of reels that get projected in less-than-respectable cinemas... and, possibly by imitation, has happened throughout history.
